Holiday Wrap Up

08 January 2012

::loooong stretch::

It's been a great holiday season, but it's time to get out of vacation-mode and back into work-mode...

Avi and I had a fantastic holiday abroad - making a winter escape from Grenada for a tourist's Christmas in New York. I made a concerted effort to put my camera away and relied more on my iPhone for the unique moments that made up our vacation.

It's great to be back in Grenada, and with a heavy workload coming down the pipeline I'm thankful for the special time Avi and I had together. There's quite a lot going on in the mosaic above, but here's a quick description of each from left to right, top to bottom:

1: Good Morning America was airing as Avi and I walk through Times Square after our 6am arrival at JFK.

2, 3: Inside Carnegie Hall on Christmas Eve, listening to the New York String Orchestra.

4: Giant chocolate chip cookies at the Winter Market in Bryant Park.

5: 30 Rock as viewed from our hotel room window.

6: Avi makes an astute observation about Times Square, "So many strange smells! Like urine!"

7: Window display at Bergdorf Goodman on 5th Avenue.

8: Manhattan skyline as viewed from The Standard Hotel's rooftop bar.

9, 10: Awaiting the Radio City Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes.

11: Ice skating at Bryant Park's free skating rink.

12: Avi marvels over large supply of cheap flowers in NYC.

13, 14, 15: Lincoln Center, awaiting the NYC Ballet's performance of The Nutcracker.

16: The Empire State Building adorned in holiday colors.

17: Yellow cabs and McDonald's.

18: Macy's on 34th Street.

19: Avi + Justin Bieber = Together Forever.

20: Breakfast at Junior's in the Theater District.

21: Cupcakes the size of your fist at Crumbs Bakery.

22, 23: Breakfast rink-side at Rock Center Cafe at Rockefeller Center.

24: Back home, a New Year's Day lunch at Umbrella's Beach Bar in Grand Anse, Grenada.

Happy New Year, folks!
