Not only did I have an awesome daytime adventure in Minneapolis with Margaret, but I snuck across the river to St. Paul for some evening facetime with two other online friends I'd never met offline.
Fellow Flickrites Andy & Sarah were my companions for super-delicious dinner at Punch Pizza, followed by free cupcakes at Sweets Bakeshop, and a scoop of ice cream at the legendary Izzy's Ice Cream in St. Paul.
Over at Sweets, Andy ate a cupcake contraption named the Breakfast Special. I was informed it really did taste like pancakes and syrup - complete with an actual piece of bacon baked inside. No lie.
Meanwhile at Izzy's, Sarah introduced me to the pleasures of an ice cream parlor that uses RFID tagged ice cream buckets to automatically update their Twitter/Facebook feeds with whatever flavor is currently ready for serving. Again, no lie.
Saturday was a great day. So great that Mother Nature got jealous and began brewing a violent storm, dropping tornadoes from the sky a mere 15 minute drive from where we were liming.
Epic adventures for the MDG.
