Farewell, Mr. Nick.

My good friend and pint-sized neighbor is moving on to bigger things.
Tonight he's leaving to join his student-mother in America.

I haven't felt this kind of sadness for a long while... It's healthy, I suppose.
My sunshine filled location often presents me with chances to experience the lighter side of life - moments of loss aren't on my agenda too often.

It's been a pleasure to know and love young Nic Nic and I look forward to seeing his family again some day. Realistically, I probably will see him again someday - his roots are near Avi's roots and those roots occasionally bump into each other in Trinidad, typically over the holidays.

I'll have to find someone new to share my Skittles with now...
