Hillside Memorial

This hillside cemetery has more history than just the dead who are buried here...
The site is Carib's Leap (or Leaper's Hill).
Directly behind me is a dramatic cliff - a cliff where Grenada's last remaining Carib Indians hurled themselves in 1651, preferring suicide over domination by the French.

I remember seeing this. Quite a story. Great image! Good choice of monochrome. The lush colors wouldn't give the same feeling, would they?
