Built to Last

Two category 5 hurricanes (Janet & Ivan).
A modern military invasion.

During its colonial days, not once did this fort fire its canons in conflict.
But within the last sixty years these walls have endured the some of heaviest stresses both man and Mother Nature have to offer. Even with their damage and decay the buildings that comprise Fort Matthew are definitely my most favorite on the island.

If only there were a way to fund its preservation...
Even without, these incredibly thick walls were built to last the worst of catastrophes.
